Green Learning Assistant

Contract Type: Fixed term

Hours: Part time - 2 days/week

Salary: £27,400 (Pro Rata)

Team: Green Meadows

Location: Queens Walk Community Centre, Nottingham

Closing Date: Friday 22nd August 2025

We have an exciting opportunity for a talented individual to join our team and fulfil this role on a part-time basis, working 2 days (14.8 hours) per week.

Working for the Charity Nottingham Energy Partnership has great benefits. As well as competitive pay, good leave entitlement and access to a generous pension scheme. We strive to create an enjoyable, inclusive and progressive work culture where everyone is supported.

In return, we are looking for a learning activity facilitator who is passionate about using education to tackle the issues around climate change, with great organisational skills and enthusiasm for working with children.

The ideal candidate:

• Do you have experience engaging with children?

• Do you have experience delivering presentations, workshops and practical activities?

• Do you have excellent organisational skills with a flexible approach?

• Are you friendly and energetic, ready to inspire the next generation of climate champions?

So, if you want to step into a rewarding position where you can make a positive impact by empowering young people with climate change knowledge and skills through fun activities then we want to hear from you.

We have a longstanding commitment to climate change, and we want you to be a part of a legacy that ensures a sustainable future. What’s more you’ll be supported to grow and thrive in your role, working closely with the Green Meadows project team and our Green Learning Coordinator.

About the Role:

This is a great opportunity for the right candidate to play a significant role in making climate education accessible to children in the Meadows area. As a Green Learning Assistant, you will be a front line campaigner for helping the next generation make and advocate for informed decisions on their environment.

Effective communication skills, both with other professionals and children, are a must; alongside a proactive approach to problem solving and adaptability. Previous experience in a similar role delivering activities in an education setting, formal or informal, would be desirable and would make you a valuable contribution to our small, friendly and dedicated team. This includes using our pre-prepared lesson plans and resources, adapting them when necessary to ensure their inclusivity.

The Green Meadows project is funded until the end of April 2026, but we are working hard to extend our climate education offering to schools. This fixed term role therefore provides the potential for development and ongoing involvement in these activities and will benefit from your ability to showcase and help shape our services.

Benefits:

As an employee of NEP you will be eligible for:

• Our attractive package which includes 24 days annual leave

• Public holidays

• A 5% employer contribution pension (in line with auto-enrolment rules)

• Staff appreciation days, annual team away day and company social events

• Employment assistance package
